*New in 2024, the So Cal Junior Amateur Championship is an official USGA Exemption Event.  The Boys & Girls Champions will earn an automatic exemption into their respective 2025 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship & the 2025 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship.

 

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:

  • 54 holes; stroke play.
  • Up to 90 boys will compete in the championship on the Legends Course.  
  • Up to 90 girls will compete in the championship on the Champions Course.
  • This is a walking-only event.

 

Friday, October 25: Round 1 (18 holes).

Saturday, October 26: Round 1 (18 holes).

 

Following the second round, the field will be cut to the low 30 scores (and ties) in each division.

 

Sunday, October 27: Round 3 (18 holes).

 

ELIGIBILITY: This championship is open to amateur golfers who are members of a current SCGA member club with a Handicap Index of 5.4 or less (boys) or 9.4 or less (girls) at the time of registration. Entrants must not have reached their 19th birthday as of October 25, 2024. 

 

EXEMPTIONS:

All exempt players must still meet eligibility requirements and register online for the championship prior to the entry closing date. The current list of exemptions can be found online by clicking here.

 

REGISTRATION DATES:  

Monday, August 26 at 8:00 a.m. PST  – Tuesday, September 24, 2024 (Exempt players).

Wednesday, September 25 at 8:00 a.m. PST – Sunday, October 6, 2024 (Non-exempt players).

 

CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION & PAIRINGS: Complete tournament details, including information about practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages played, will be emailed and posted on scga.org and scpgajrtour.com after entries close.

 

ENTRY FEE: $275

 

LATE ENTRIES: The SCGA accepts late entries, assuming space is still available at the given event. Late entries will be subject to an additional $20 fee and can only be processed over the phone or through email.  

 

REFUND POLICY: Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $20 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
