CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION

POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
- Prior to participating, participants must review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.
FORMAT:
- 54-hole stroke play championship (boys & girls division).
- 72 boys & 72 girls will play 18-holes on Friday, October 25, 18-holes on Saturday, October 26.
- Cut to the low 30 scores and ties in each division for the final 18-holes on Sunday, October 27. Awards will be given to those who finish in 1st through 5th place in each division. A hole-by-hole sudden-death playoff will occur if there is only a tie for first place.
REGISTRATION:
All participants are required to check in upon arriving Friday & Saturday morning. A registration table will be located near the scoreboard on the back side of the clubhouse.
STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS:
- Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted on scga.org/boysjunior & scga.org/girlsjunior one week in advance of the championship.
- Round 1 & 2 starting times will be a 9 a.m. shotgun each day.
- Round 3 starting times will be split tee with Girls off Hole 1 and Boys off Hole 10 and will range from 7:30 a.m. – approx. 9:30 a.m. - repaired by score, leaders going last.
- Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA/SCPGA starter will have information to discuss with each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes before their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off.
TEES & YARDAGE:
- Boys’ Division - Course Rating: 74.2 / Slope: 132 / 6,981 yards / Par 72.
- Girls’ Division - Course Rating: 75.4 / Slope: 136 / 6,053 yards / Par 72.

PRACTICE ROUNDS:
- Players may plan arrangements for practice rounds at their own expense.
- Practice Rounds can be booked by contacting the Morongo Golf Club Pro Shop at 951-845-0014.
- Green Fee: Monday-Friday: $60 before 1 p.m., $35 after 1 p.m. Saturday & Sunday: $80 before 1 p.m. and $45 after 1 p.m. All drivers must be 18 years old, if parents drive, there is an additional $10 fee. Identify yourself as a participant in the Southern California Junior Amateur Golf Championship.
PRACTICE AREA:
- Range balls will be provided complimentary on the driving range.
- The practice putting green is open without restriction.
FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:
- The restaurant inside the clubhouse will be open Friday through Sunday 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Beverage carts will be the only option for drinks and snacks during the two days.
- The SCGA/SCPGA will host all players for a meal after their round on Friday and Saturday.
- Parents and Spectators should make F&B purchases from the restaurant inside the clubhouse.
- Major credit cards and cash will be accepted at the restaurant and the beverage carts.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.

The SCGA and StrackaLine have teamed up to allow our participants the availability to purchase StrackaLine Yardage & Greens books at a discounted price. Click here to order your booklet. All booklets conform to the Rules of Golf and may be used in tournament play.
AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION, PULL/PUSH CARTS:
- Motorized golf carts are prohibited during the championship. All players (with the exception of driving out to starting holes the first two days) and spectators must walk. Special accommodations will be made for disabilities.
- Pull or push carts are permitted.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
- Players may provide their own caddie, however, it may not be a parent, stepparent, or guardian. (see section on Automotive Transportation) (Model Local Rule H-1.2).
- Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.

Cutoff Date: October 4, 2024. Please contact the hotel and mention you are a participant in the Southern California Junior Amateur. Any rooms not reserved by the cutoff date will be released back to inventory.
DRESS CODE:
Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.
CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:
- To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
- Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
- Refund Policy:
- Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
- Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
- Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
